Bay Pines Entlebucher Stud Kennel

Our Kennel

Bay Pines Entlebucher Stud Kennel was established March 2008 in our beautiful mountain town of South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Our story starts back to January 2006 when we were in search of a new four-legged family member.  Through research of dogs we've had in the past, we stumbled across the Entlebucher Sennenhund.  We had never heard of this breed before.  Having had a Bernese, this caught our eye because of the reduced size, same tri-colored markings, and less hair!  Entle's are high-energy snow loving dogs as that of their cousins.  This sounded too good to be true and we needed to see one for our own eyes.

Well, I'll tell you right now, pictures do not do these dogs justice!

We scheduled an appointment to see this breed up close and personal with whom later became our breeder. What a magnificent, powerful, elegant dog.

July 14
th 2006, our beloved, now Champion, Jake v. Brunswick was here!  What a cuddly fur-ball of fun!

Jake is a great traveler, as indoctrinated by his two hour ride home, so we take him everywhere, fishing, hiking, romping in the snow, road trips, the store, you name it, he goes.

We started crate-training the first night we brought him home, where he slept for a year.  Now, anytime we go somewhere that he might need his crate, all we have to say is "Bed!" and he walks right in, day or night.  Since then, he has enjoyed the luxury of sleeping on his dog bed in the TV room.  What'a good boy!

Because Entle's are high-energy dogs, we have become much more active, which has been great for our health! And way more fun than going to the gym!  He trots along side us on bike rides, which took a little bit of training for all of us.  We do much more walking and hikes in the mountains than ever before, sun, rain or snow.

June 16th 2008, Jake sired his first born litter of 8, 5 males, 3 females! Whoohoo!!  Way to go Jake!!

As the proud pack-leaders that we are, we decided to bring home one of his sons for him to father and pal around.  As a stud kennel, it was prudent for us to select the best structured, well-tempered puppy in an effort to continue promoting this wonderful breed.

Welcome, Pettier v. Adhem (Pete)!  What a fur-ball of joy!  It's been two years since we've had a little one running around.  What fun!!  During Pete's 8-14 weeks of age, he has learned to follow, come, sit, down and walk on leash.  He is also engaging in the beginning efforts of Agility games.  He too goes for car rides in the back of our SUV with his dad, miles of on and off-leash walks, romping in a stream in the forest across the street from our home, frolicking at the lake here in Tahoe, or just hanging out at Starbucks for all to admire.

Dad and son fill the rest of their days playing, learning, teaching, disciplining, eating and sleeping.  Like father, Pete too will work towards his championship, in due time.  We feel that by participating in various events and clinics as well as working with them at home continues to build trust and confidence with our dogs in an effort to be the best pack-leader that we can be.

We hope you enjoy our site and all it has to offer.
